Brielle Langlois of DISHS and Taylor Wiberg of DISES,

Two local students have been awarded the 2019 Maine Junior Duck Stamp (JDS) State Coordinator's Choice Award. This special award of excellence is presented to Brielle Langlois and Taylor Wiberg to recognize the top and best submissions to the Maine Junior Duck Stamp program art contest. Both were selected for this State Coordinator’s category from over 500 entries.

Maine State JDS Coordinator Ryan Kleinert said, "Brielle and Taylor’s exceptional depiction of North American waterfowl in their native habitat exemplifies the best of artistic expression, representation, and technique interpreted through a naturalist’s eye and is truly worthy of this award."

The Junior Duck Stamp Program is a dynamic education program that teaches students about wetlands and waterfowl conservation in kindergarten through high school. The program encourages students to explore their natural world, invites them to investigate biology and wildlife management principles, and challenges them to express and share what they have learned with others.
